II International Congress on “Caucasus and Central Asia in Globalization Process”

Second International Congress on “Caucasus and Central Asia in Globalization Process - Economic and International Relations” was held in Azerbaijan State Philharmonic named after M. Magomayev on 02 May 2007. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic, Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Republic, Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Republic, Caucasus University, TIKA, National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic, TUSIAB.

The objective of the Congress was to analyze scientific aspect of role and position of South Caucasus and Central Asia in globalization world, to inform about the scientific – research activities in this field and to provide the experience change. With this purpose 90 scientists were invited from Central Asia, Bulgaria, various universities of Turkiye and USA as well as from Azerbaijan universities.

The event was started with opening speech of Caucasus University rector Mr. Ahmet Sanic. Next speech passed to the Minister of Education Mr. Misir Mardanov. In his speech minister spoke about the education reforms provided in the country, the role of Caucasus University in this field and marked that this event will impact to the development of education in Azerbaijan and wished success to the Congress.

The co-chairman of the Congress, president of National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Alakbar Mammadov welcomed Congress participants on the behalf of Azerbaijan entrepreneurs and spoke about the successful development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, current problems in this field and the role of globalization in country economy. In his concluded remarks Mr. Mammadov highly appreciated the Congress and said that this event plays an important role for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs from point of getting the information about the Central Asia economy.

Congress was closed by the speeches of scientists invited from different countries.
